Many travellers apply online before arrival through the official Tanzania e-visa system. Some nationalities may be able to obtain a visa on arrival, but applying ahead can make the airport process smoother.
Passport Validity
Your passport should normally be valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date and have blank pages for immigration stamps. Airline staff may check this before boarding.
Arrival Airports
Common arrival points include Kilimanjaro International Airport, Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam, Abeid Amani Karume International Airport in Zanzibar, and land borders for regional travel.
Zanzibar And Mainland Travel
Zanzibar is part of Tanzania. You may pass through domestic checks when moving between mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar, so keep your passport and travel documents accessible.
